love news!

“The only certain thing about the future is that it will surprise even those who have seen furthest into it.”
― E.J. Hobsbawm

{Hopes & Dreams} News....

Josh and I are ENGAGED!!!!

Being the mushy gushy lovey dovey couple that we are- we had talked about tying the knot for quite some time. I had a sneaking suspicion that is was coming up, but he did a perfect job of surprising me last Thursday night!

He popped the question at the end of our walk at the Atlanta Botanical Garden's on bended knee in front of a giant Christmas tree. It was just perfect and I hopped around squealing for near half an hour. "We're getting married!!!" "We can be together forever!!!" "This is going to be so fun!!!"

We bought a love dove ornament in the gift shop for our tree as a memory of the night
{ya know, like somehow I will ever forget this....no}

Such a surprisingly WONDERFUL night! I am SO IN LOVE!!!

The goods:

I can't even think of anything to say- I just love it and him so much! My heart literally jumps when I look at the ring- I get to be with JSH forever! "This is going to be so fun!!!"

Oh and as-if you had any doubts- I own every single Winter issue of bridal magazines published in 2011. Thank you to friends and family who gave me copies- you know the way to my heart!

Thank you Thank you Thank you to everyone for your sweet words and kind blessings. We are beyond excited to plan our wedding and our life together.

Love :) amc

all things glam

Last night while I was indulging my soul and rotting my brain-{watching Real Housewives of Bev Hills}- I swear I heard the word "glam" or "glammy" 12 times. Despise the word! Adore the style...

This is Amanda's take on glam:
{was third person that I just used? uhh}

Ultimate glamorous room- love the white, the Lucite details, rich hints of color, extravagant bed frame, sensual fabrics and textiles. This room is fit for a princess.

 And the princess shall wear this outfit. I love a cute little white baby doll dress, adore long blonde hair with waves and die for that hot jacket

Can I please dance around in this at a party soon?

And I would also like to cover my wrists in these happy bracelets.
I swear I can DIY these....

It is so rare, but the other evening I had this major craving for chocolate cake. A quick trip to  Pinterest and I discovered how simple it is to make these cute little cups of chocolate cake! Some don't even need eggs!
"baking" soon... glam!

A more chic princess would enjoy this glamorous room {can that be me? me??!!}. Love the prints, clean lines, drastic accent pieces, white and beige color scheme.
Hopes & Dreaming...

I believe the princess for that room would don this glamorous outfit. Mostly because today I am wearing a leopard belt and a leather jacket- so I identify with her. And I will probably copy her outfit. {except in pants form....yikes that "skirt"!}

Glamorous is also found in the form of a decadent meal. This is actually venison, which I don't love, but I have some in the freezer...and I hope to recreate this meal soon.
Game-y Glamour...?

For today, that is my version of glamorous. White color schemes, shiny metals, rich fabrics, leather, leopard, decadent meals, delicious chocolate, and tons of jewels.

holiday things

Lately...
How is it that no one says Merry Christmas quite like Starbucks? From the decor, to the drinks and little details like the cups. Such a festive way to start the day.

 a pretty place for christmas cookies or a holiday message

 too cute gingerbread men for an afternoon work snack

 {love him!}

 That is one adorable boxer! Mr Mason and I could spend all day tucked in bed together

 I'm still experimenting with this ribbon thing.
I love having a fresh tree and decorated living room!

 Lovely Atlanta

 Christmas wrapping paper!

 Glittery gifts nestled under the tree

 Thank you for the reminder Ikea :)

 How cute are these Hunter-like rain boot ornaments! Grab a pair at Target

Oh, so this is why there is that thing called "flash"

holiday ham

Remember when I made that turkey for Friendsgiving? Well... I kind of impressed myself with how yummy it was. But I was sad that Josh didn't get to taste any of it. So I decided to take a stab at a ham.
A four-pound piggy without the glaze packet. But who needs that Paula Deen in a packet?! Homemade glaze is easy!
Love that caramelized crust.
I can't remember 100% but I believe the glaze consisted of dark brown sugar, pineapple, red pepper flakes, honey, mustard and garlic. I simmered it, blended it all together {immersion blender!} and spread it all over the ham twice during its trip in the oven.

We have been eating these little holiday piggy sliders all week. So tasty!!!

I also turned that ham into a tasty casserole using random items found in the kitchen.
Boil water and cook noodles until just about al dente
In a skillet, saute pearl onions, frozen peas and garlic. Collect the juices in the pan by adding a bit of flour- then begin to create a cheesy sauce by adding in butter, cream, and as many different yummy cheeses that you have.
Combine it all together and bake that baby off till bubble inside and crispy on top.

I am really enjoying cooking classic holiday things! While I am yet to use a recipe, things have been working out so far thanks to my season, smell and sample method of cooking :)

Thinking about a pot roast for tonight- my crock pot is crying to be used

trimming turkeys and trees

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I hope that everyone had a beautiful and blessed holiday.

We spent ours at Grandmommy and Grandaddy's house with 50 of our wonderful family members. Surprisingly there were actually leftovers

This wasn't easy

My family!

I love these pictures- Mom is so pretty!

Those boys

Before all of this- the girls and I had an impromtu Thanksgiving dinner! I actually cooked a turkey and homemade gravy! So exciting- we had a fantastic time! Good friends. Good food. Doesn't get much better

 Turks the turkey hot and fresh out the oven!

 Carved and ready to eat

A complete and wonderful meal! Shout out to PowPowell infamous stuffing, Meagan's tasty beans and Morgan's first stab at cooking: mac & cheese!

This morning Josh and I scratched our Christmas tree itch and decked the halls!

The first JAMM family tree ready for Home!

We went with a fresh tree- we just couldn't part with its beautiful fragrance

toasty toes

Last year it was Hunters that kept my toes toasty. I L O V E my Hunter boots, and when I stuff those cozy socks in them, my Uggs are a waste of money {sorry Uggs}. My Hunter's keep me dry and cozy and they are classically cute!!

 Precious! That isn't me... but I will probably copy that outfit, does that count?
{Atlantic-Pacific}

There I am! Snuggled up with my trusty, toasty Hunters

THIS year Josh spotted the Sorel! And since then my selective vision has been ON. They are all I see and I dub them as this year's Hunter:

They definitely have that rugged thing going on. But the fur looks soft and sweet.

Watch this video and suddenly they become sexy! I am a sucker for marketing.

To be loyal to my Hunters, my budget and my boyfriend. I will probably opt for this well-priced option for me:
Yup, they are Old Navy! Who would've guessed?!

You may be wondering what this boot choice has to do with my loyalty to my boyfriend....Well, he did spot them first. And he needs them more than I do. Anddddd I totally love him and want him to have cozy toes!!! :) {Christmas gift spoiler alert}

Love the red shoelaces

I can't seem to convince Josh that the shearling on this pair is faaabulous! But don't you think it is???? {please agree, please agree}

{Hopes & Dreams} time!!!

 Baby Boy Sorels!!!

Baby Girl Sorels!!!

Toe-tally exciting! {augh...that was bad}
