weekends away

As I mentioned before, Josh and I skipped out of Atlanta last weekend for a little impromptu trip to his hometown of Chickamauga, GA and to Chattanooga TN. We had a wonderful time and I definately broke in my iPhone camera and Instagram app :)

 Mr Mason came with us! {don't tell Miley}

bye Atlanta!

first stop, some sweet tea on the Hall's front porch

then lunch with Josh's cousin David and his sweet wife Tya.
so much fun! i loved catching up with them and hearing about the latest Chickamauga happenings  :)
we got some wonderful playtime with Josh's nieces and nephews. they are so adorable and they LOOOVE their Uncy Joshy!!!

 after all of the family time, we were excited to go explore Chattanooga together, just us. we walked around for hours enjoying the lovely city and each other's company. i have so much fun with Josh :)

love this bridge, we walked over it a couple of times and even got to watch the sunset from it

 We LOVED the Bluff View Art District! So much beauty everywhere! We even got to feed Josh's nostalgia and stopped at one of his favorite high school hangout spots- a precious coffee shop where I got a fantastic blueberry sage iced tea.

And we saw a wedding!!! You KNOW I freaked out! {hopes & dreams!} The location was outstanding, overlooking the river and bridges. The decor was precious and simple and rustic and the bride and groom looked wonderfully excited.

 After all of that walking, we had worked up a healthy appetite for some BBQ. Josh and I went to Sticky Fingers- we both ordered ribs, but different styles, and we both licked our plates and sticky fingers clean. Yummy!

On the way back to our car we crossed the walking bridge at the exact perfect time. We got to watch the entire sunset and listen to wonderful live music. It was a picture perfect ending to a fabulously happy day.

 And that's not all...
 The next morning we woke up to freshly baked biscuits in the Hall's cast iron skillet! I was more than excited to enjoy food made in a cast iron skillet while in the actual country!!! haha! Josh's dad also made fried green tomatoes {fresh from his garden!}, so yummy! We all ate together on the front porch and I sipped on more of that fabulous southern sweet tea.

We ended our trip with a hike in Cloudland Canyon, that was simply wonderful.

I am so thankful for wonderful getaway weekends with good family and a great boyfriend. Now back to the grind of Atlanta {I even rode MARTA today! ha}

happy amanda :) amc

  2. Love Chatt town and Bluff View. Went to many prom dinners there, ya know Dalton doesn't have the best dining establishments.
